We recently announced a five-year partnership with GO GROUND® to provide charter bus transportation. LEAD1 schools will be offered team travel services and special programs to help sell tickets and engage fans. Across campus, students will be offered charter bus travel home during key break periods and alumni & boosters will be offered special day programs to events.
GO GROUND® brings great industry experience to this partnership. Their balanced approach to safety, service and savings were important factors why the NCAA chose GO GROUND® as their official ground transportation provider for the NCAA Championships, including March Madness. We are proud to add this program to our travel-related member offerings along with our sister Air Charter Program.
In all these programs, safety must be paramount. The need for better travel standards and higher safety is essential. Sadly, we occasionally hear about bus accidents involving college sports teams. The 2007 charter bus accident involving the Bluffton University baseball team which tragically resulted in seven deaths is a tragic reminder to that point. Fortunately, safety protocol and technology have come a long way since that tragedy and GO GROUND® is a national leader in the use of these new techniques.
